TOD and CCT Fermentation Tanks
designed for precision and performance
TOD (Tank Out Door) and CCT (Cylindro-Conical Tank) fermentation tanks form the heart of a brewery’s cold block.
They transform wort into beer through a controlled biological process, initiated by yeast.
ZIEMEX designs and manufactures these tanks custom-made to guarantee thermal control, final product quality, and process safety.
Each equipment is dimensioned according to your needs, installation constraints, and hygiene requirements.
A unique expertise
peeting the strict standards of modern breweries
- Polished internal surfaces (Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, or even ≤ 0.6 µm for certain applications),
- Precise thermal regulation via laser-welded embossed pockets,
- High-performance insulation with injected polyurethane foam (up to 150 mm)
- Integration of control, safety, and CIP/NEP cleaning accessories.
Custom Dimensioning
to serve your performance
Each tank is calculated according to pressure equipment design rules (DESP) and adapted to the specifics of your production. ZIEMEX optimizes the height/diameter proportions for homogeneous fermentation and proper yeast sedimentation, while taking into account:
- useful volumes and brewing cycles,
- transport constraints or building passage requirements,
- integration of catwalks, ladders, and maintenance points,
- indoor or outdoor installation conditions (TOD).
This approach guarantees both process performance, ergonomics, and brewer safety.
Cooling Performance
and energy management
Thermal control is a key factor in beer quality. Fermentation generates significant exothermic heat, which ZIEMEX controls through its exclusive laser-welded embossed pocket technology, ensuring homogeneous circulation of glycol fluid and rapid heat exchange.
Combined with high-density polyurethane foam insulation, this design allows for:
- precise regulation of fermentation temperatures,
- significant reduction in energy consumption,
- thermal stability throughout the brewing cycle.
Tanks can be supplied equipped or ready to receive temperature probes, pressure sensors, and CO₂ control devices for precise process monitoring.
HygiEne &
process safety
Hygiene requirements in food processes demand impeccable cleaning.
ZIEMEX tanks are designed to minimize any retention zones and facilitate internal washing:
- static wash balls or rotating heads depending on diameter,
- targeted nozzles for complete cleaning of accessories,
- polished surface finishes (Ra ≤ 0.8µm, option ≤ 0.6µm for sensitive processes).
CIP/NEP cycles can include alkaline and acid washing and disinfection, guaranteeing microbiological cleanliness before each brewing cycle.
In terms of safety, the tanks integrate the necessary accessories for managing pressure variations: relief valves, vacuum check valves, and decompression systems.
ZIEMEX also designs CO₂ management devices (pressure relief valve, sparging pipe, sampling ports) to provide a complete and secure solution for the brewer.
Impeccable Finishing
and integration
Each tank is made of cold-rolled stainless steel, pickled and passivated, and can be polished internally and externally according to your aesthetic and sanitary requirements. ZIEMEX also handles:
- Fabrication and assembly of catwalks and stairs,
- Preparation for hoisting and on-site installation,
- Integration of sensors and process connections,
- Complete technical documentation (plans, material certificates, tests).
